Bertelsmann Foundation (North America)
Established in 2008, the Bertelsmann Foundation (North America), Inc. is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit think tank in Washington, DC dedicated to promoting and strengthening the transatlantic relationship. Through research, analysis, forums, and multimedia content, the Foundation educates and engages audiences on the most pressing economic, political, and social challenges facing the United States and Europe, fostering a strong and lasting transatlantic partnership.

Irene Braam
Irene Braam joined the Bertelsmann Foundation as Executive Director in 2016 and has since led its transformation from a traditional think tank into a pioneer in using film and multimedia to tackle complex policy issues. An experienced lawyer and media producer, the Dutch native began her career in the music industry and worked in Paris, London, and Brussels. Prior to joining the Foundation in Washington, D.C., Braam was Vice President for Government Affairs and Head of the Bertelsmann Liaison Office in Brussels.
Judy Goldstein
Judy Goldstein is a historian specializing in twentieth- and twenty-first-century American and European history. She received her doctorate from Columbia University and is the author of several books and scholarly articles. She is the founder and former executive director of Humanity in Action, an international educational organization she led for more than three decades.
